Britton G. Swank, Esq.

Attorney

Britton Swank Elder Law Attorney

Graduating with High Honors, Britton received her Juris Doctorate in December 2002 from the University of Florida Levin School of Law and was admitted to practice in Florida in 2003.

Accredited by the Veterans Administration, Britton’s practice concentrates in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianship, and Medicaid and VA benefits. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, and the Florida Bar Association.  Britton was the 2020 President of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys and is its 2022 Member of the Year.  She currently co-chairs the Florida Joint Public Policy Task Force for Florida’s elderly and disabled.  This task force is comprised of leaders of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys and meets weekly to champion issues affecting some of Florida’s most vulnerable citizens.

Passionate about her commitment to the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, she has been on the Board of Directors since 2004 and is a past president of the organization. Named as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2010-2013, Britton was recognized as a Super Lawyer in 2015-2022.

Tricia Winterstein

Paralegal

In 1994, Tricia completed her paralegal degree and obtained a national certification as a Certified Legal Assistant. Then in 1995, she graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. After completing her educational and professional goals, Tricia married her husband Jeff in April 1996 and eight years later the couple welcomed their son, Alex.

Away from work, Tricia enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, attending wine tastings, playing co-ed softball and other sports, and going to the beach. She is also an avid long-distance runner, having run 430 miles in 44 different races within the last 10 years!

Peggy Polsinelli

Paralegal

Peggy Polsinelli

Peggy was born in upstate New York, grew up in western Massachusetts and moved to southwest Florida in 1988. In 1990, Peggy began working for an elder law attorney, then in 1992 graduated with her paralegal degree and passed the national certification exam receiving her designation as a Certified Paralegal.

Peggy assists clients and their families in working through the process of estate planning and administration. In her free time Peggy likes to spend time with her family, along with cooking, reading, and shopping.

Kelly Scagliotti

Kelly Scagliotti

Kelly was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and moved to Ft. Myers at 3 months of age. She has a love of learning and is a former kindergarten teacher with a BS in Education, a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies, and an AA in Paralegal Studies. Kelly is a proud mother of 2 adult daughters, who are married to wonderful men, and 2 fabulous grandsons. This third-generation Floridian is a huge Florida State fan and when she’s not flaunting her garnet and gold, she spends a fair amount of her spare time trying to convince her rescue dog that she is the pack leader. Kelly is a Florida Registered Paralegal and assists the attorney with Probate, Trust Administration, and Guardianship cases.

Judy D. Allen

Office Administration

Judy is a native Floridian, growing up in West Palm Beach. Life and family took Judy to several faraway places, including Northern Michigan and Guam as she started her family in the military. Eventually Judy made her way back to Florida and settled in LaBelle and finally in Lehigh Acres.

Judy is the firm’s Office Administrator and she gained valuable administrative experience as she worked for 30 years in the agricultural industry. Judy and her husband live in Lehigh with their two rescue puppies, Bandit and Brody. She is the proud grandma of 10 and enjoys Hallmark movies and learning about health and healing with essential oils.

Candi M. Girtman

Reception

Candi grew up in Southwest Florida and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology. She worked as a case manager with the Hillsborough County Aging Services for three years. Candi married her husband, Grant, in 1995 and stayed home during their children’s early years.

After working in her church’s preschool ministry for 13 years, Candi switched back to working with seniors as the firm’s receptionist in 2018. She enjoys cooking, spending time with family and staying active.
